Remember the Titans!
Since Dominion first opened its doors in 2003—17 + years ago— the school has received little to no funding for athletic renovations. However, Loudoun County continues to grow rapidly, requiring funding for new schools in Ashburn and Western Loudoun and leaving little capital for Eastern Loudoun schools.
With 26 athletic teams in 16 different sports, Dominion has a robust athletics program. However, 36.7% of our student population classifies as economically disadvantaged and 1/3 of our student population is on the Free and Reduced lunch program. Keeping all of this in mind, the TABC must seek support from businesses and families within our community for resources to contribute to the success of our athletes.
The lack of general funding combined with the 2020 COVID-19 global pandemic school shutdown left many athletic programs without revenue streams over the last 18 months. Dominion may not be alone in this struggle, but we are certainly one of the few facing an uphill battle in providing an equitable playing field for our athletes within the County.
The needs within the Dominion athletic program range from major investments such as:
Replacing the gym scoreboard table that has not been replaced since the school's opening
Replacing football/lacrosse helmets
Replacing practice equipment, shoulder pads and headsets
Hurdles, uniforms, and much more
To very basic needs such as:
Mats
Nets
Balls
Game canopies
And much more...
The athletic department cannot fund these programs without the support of our families and community. Please consider becoming a Titan Athletic Booster Club sponsor today!
Please contact the Dominion High School Athletic Director for more information on how you can be a sponsor for the Dominion Titans.
